Introduction
Blue River Casino throws an invite-only murder mystery party every year. This is a refined but fun event, when they invite their staff, top customer and friends and family out for dinner and a murder mystery game. I worked with another designer, Olivia Michealson to develop the 2024 identity. The client did not want it to feel too cliche, and all pieces of the design suite were to fit inside a mailer box (Left).
The concept of this project is to capture the chaos of a murder mystery in a 2D space. The flat customized dingbats and typography visualize the tense and loud chaos that would happen during the midsts of a murder.
Invitations & Poster
Event Information
The poster is both posted in the Casino and mailed out. It includes details for the event along with the location. The invitations that come in the mailer box have also have event details and include the casting (ex. Killer, Innocent) of the recipients. The continuation of the pattern throughout is present to continue the tension that is present throughout the event's mailer.
It Would be a Crime...
The T-shirt Design I created also needed to be a simplified version of what I had working on the poster and mailer. For the front, I ended up running two lines of text into each other, in order to make the tension present come to life in a minimal way. For the back, I pulled from my customized dingbat pattern, incorporating the "murder" lockup.
